Sanjan Nagar and ITA to join Aman Ki Aasha Queens Baton Relay Ceremony at Wagah .. on June 25, 2010 with Hankies for Peace.
The Queen's Baton Relay Ceremony will take place at Wagah Border with
runners carrying the Commonwealth torch from Pakistan to India. The
Pakistan Olympic Association and the Indian Olympic Association are
coming together to celebrate this event.
At the occasion, Aman Ki Asha will also host an event involving some
of the thousands of handkerchiefs made by school children across
Pakistan and India. If we tied all the hankies together, it would
constitute the largest ever chain of peace messages made by children.
There will be a ceremonial tying of the knot at Wagah border after the
torch has been passed.
Musical performances and appearances by sports figures and media
personalities, including Jassi Singh, Jawad Ahmed and Zaheer and
Samina Abbas on the Pakistan side of the border. A concert on the
Indian side will feature Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and others.
