At the World Education Forum 2015, the representatives of the Member States, Heads of International Organizations, and the representatives of Civil Society and Private Organizations are gathering to adopt a Declaration, which sets a SHARED vision of education for the future international community, and to discuss the details of the Framework for Action for successful implementation of the education goal and targets. Five key themes of the agendas for the World Education Forum 2015 are Right to Education, Equity, Inclusion, Quality Education, and Lifelong Learning.
The World Education Forum (WEF) in Incheon from May 18-22, 2015 will present and finalize the Framework of Education 2030; this has been a process based highly consultative work alongside SDGs which will be finalized at the UN Special Summit in September 2015; civil society has played a very active role in Pakistan - ITA will be present as part of the official Country Delegation led by Engr. Baligh ur Rahman Minister of State Pakistan -there several civil society activists including Pakistan Coalition of Education (PCE) and 5 young girls sponsored by Plan International as members of Larger Global campaign. We hope to raise our voices where we must - a position paper has been drafted for this occasion at WEF with inputs from many civil society partners and local education group members. The paper provides linkages of the Muscat Agreement /SDG Goal No. 4 and its 9 targets with our constitution legal and policy provisions will be useful for many as a reference document with key ASKS from our Government and influential education committee at the WEF. |
