·                                Gojra Inquiry Tribunal comprising Lahore High Court concluded its proceedings. The Tribunal recorded testimonies of 580 witnesses. During the proceedings, Mr. Dost Muhammad Khosa, Local Govevernment Minister also submitted his statement with an affidavit through Mr. Ijaz Maharvi, Member Local Government Commission Lahore.                          Dawn Sep. 06, 2009

·                    Gojra like incident was averted in Chichawatni village 8/11-L on September 4, 2009/. According to reports women of local landlord Mr. Abid found some pages of Quran in their fields and part of village of housing the Christian community. The elders of both communities collected these pages and informed the local police about the matter. Hafiz Saeed SHO (Station House Officer) lodged an FIR (First Investigation Report) against unknown persons. However Christian and Muslim community along with social activists and police averted the danger of any untoward incident by active engagement in the neighboring villages through dialogue. Prayer leaders of local mosques and churches held a meeting to ensure their cooperation to maintain peace and harmony in the village.                                                                       Dawn Sep. 07, 2009

·              The Lahore High Court granted bail to four accused in Gojra incident. Mr. Malik Munsif Awan, the Counsel of petitioners; Pir Muhammad Bashir, Muhammad Ahmad, Muhammad Abid and Kaleemullah, said his clients were not nominated in FIR and were arrested on suspicion. The court granted bail against surety bonds worth Rs. 100,000 each.                  The News Sep. 07, 2009

 

·              Ahmad Raza Tahir, the Regional Police Officer told in a press conference that four main accused Khalid Hussain alias Khalidi, Faqir Hussain Jutt, Abid Farooq and Ijaz are arrested for violence in Gojra riot and that they belonged to banned organization Sipah-i-Sahaba Pakistan.                      The News 08, 2009
